Ny niece asked me to create a tiara for her and this was the
result. I consider myself to be fairly "up" on all things
trendy (don't ask me about my hair...lol...remember it's a work
in progress!) but I do read a lot of magazines, keep myself
abreast on the latest colors and am always checking out the
latest in celebrity garb. Having said that, I seriously didn't
know that tiara's were among the in thing but how wrong I
was. After a few turns of the page in some grocery store Bridal
magazines I quickly realized that these were quite the IN thing
and I needed to figure out how to create one, using my own spin
for elegance.
Most of the tiara's I've found were very froo-froo and not that
I'm not into "froo-froo" (I'm not.) but I didn't care for all
the things that stuck out of them and how they looked like they
could possibly take out an eye should you get too close. Totally
eww. The goofy butterfly bits and pieces just didn't fit in for
the bride trying to keep the focus on her rather than that
"thing" on her head, onlookers taking close eye and saying to
their guest, "what is that on her head?" That, my friends, was
NOT a look I wanted.
So. Here is my take on the tiara. It's elegant and
simple. It needs no real introduction because it can stand
alone, just like the bride. She needs no introduction and with
or without it, she can stand alone and be the day. Together
they're a beautiful pair and will keep for years to come.
I created it, using Swarovski 8mm rounds in both crystal and
light rose AB. It's a a bit on the heavy side but isn't
ridiculously weighty that your head would fall to the side (like
that I Love Lucy episode where Lucy becomes a Las Vegas dancer?
Oh Lord. Did you ever see that? She could barely keep her head
up...I'll have to find a clip of that for what NOT to
wear...anyway, I digress...).
Each crystal is hand-wired with finer gauge sterling silver wire
(99% silver, fine). It's a gorgeous piece and I hope you enjoy
it. You'll be the belle of the ball, just as it should be.

If the AB is more than you want (sparkle in rainbow) it's simple
to turn the crystals to the back view where the AB finish isn't
as visible. You can see where I've done that to many of the
crystals. The light will hit and the AB finish will pour out,
but again, if that's too much, simply turn them around (gently)
and the finish will fade to the back.
